Wine Without Walls is the section of 5StarWines – the Book dedicated to organic and/or biodynamic wines. The goal of Wine Without Walls is to recognize the commitment of producers in biodynamic and organic agriculture, as they define new sustainable horizons both in the vineyard and in the cellar.

EVALUATION

A dedicated Wine Without Walls jury evaluates organic or biodynamic wines, as they do for 5StarWines. The panel of judges assigns the scores on the basis of a visual, olfactory and gustatory examination: the average of these votes, subject to the final evaluation of the Panel Chair, produces the final score, expressed out of a hundred, and the accompanying tasting note.

SELECTION

The wines that obtain a score equal to or greater than 90/100 are included in the special Wine Without Walls section of the 5StarWines – the Book, with respective score and tasting note. In addition to being an important recognition and informative contribution, the Book is also an effective promotional and commercial tool, distributed to an international audience of commercial operators and wine professionals.

TROPHIES

BEST WINERY WINE WITHOUT WALLS

Awarded to the producer who has achieved the best score obtained from the total of the scores for the first three wines selected for inclusion in the book, belonging to at least two different categories.

BEST BIODYNAMIC WHITE, RED, ROSÉ, SEMI-SPARKLING, SPARKLING, SWEET, FORTIFIED

Awarded to the biodynamic wine with the best score in each section.

BEST ORGANIC WHITE, RED, ROSÉ, SEMI-SPARKLING, SPARKLING, SWEET, FORTIFIED

Awarded to the organic wine with the best score in this section.

BEST WINE DISTRIBUTED BY

Awarded to the biodynamic or organic wine with the best score among those presented by a distributor partner of the event.

THE RULES OF PARTICIPATION

Participation in Wine Without Walls is reserved for companies whose registered wines have obtained organic certification (European Regulation 203/2012, published in the Official Journal of the EU on 9 March 2012) – or in conversion – and/or with a biodynamic statement.

Participation in a specific Wine Without Walls section excludes the possibility of registering the same wines in 5StarWines and vice versa. If a winery enters an organic or biodynamic wine in the 5StarWines section, the Organizer will move them to the appropriate section.

THE EVENT

The blind tasting of the wines entered in Wine Without Walls takes place in parallel with that of 5StarWines.

THE JURY

The evaluation and selection of the wines entered in Wine Without Walls is conducted by a dedicated jury, made up of industry professionals specialized in wine products from biodynamic and organic agriculture.

The wines that are candidates for entering the Wine Without Walls section can belong to the still, semi-sparkling, sparkling, sweet and fortified categories.

THE DIPLOMA

All wineries whose wines obtain a rating of at least 90/100 receive an official diploma confirming the score, in print and digital format.

THE CERTIFICATE

Each of the companies whose wines have obtained an evaluation of between 85 and 89/100 is sent a certificate of participation in the Selection in digital format.
