Portal is excited to announce the launch of its Immersive Metaverse Dance Production, a first-of-its-kind conference and event opening performance that will blend the real and the imaginary in an elegant and abstract fusion of light and sound woven together by the movements of a world champion ballroom dancer.
As the performer mesmerises the audience with graceful choreography, her motions will be transformed into virtual renderings that will take on a life of their own as they metamorphosise into new shapes and forms using state-of-the-art technology.

Portal differs from other digitally-enhanced productions in a number of important ways.
In other productions the audience is only a witness to the exhibition or content on display, whereas in Portal you are a participant in the unique experience where innovative technology and the performers tell you their story in unison.
Usually there is no interaction between the set and the performers. In contrast, with Portal, you are part of the performance, where the performers and the technology become partners, and all movements (live and rendered) are synchronised. Portal plunges you into a new world without the need for special equipment, such as VR googles.
Portal combines the real with the imaginary, the actual with the virtual, in a seamless presentation that allows people from around the world to experience the event via live VR streaming. With alternatives, the audience is only either in a virtual metaverse and ignorant of the real world surrounding them or viewing images and/or videos projected on LCD screens behind the performers. Moreover, the set is clearly visible to the audience who can see the outlines of the walls, floor and ceiling onto which the images and/or video are projected. There is a solution for that with Portal’s 3D/360 technology: you feel as though you are actually in a new landscape together with the performers. Whether that is sitting atop a cloud, swimming through a coral reef or flying through a magical world, with Portal you feel as though you are really there.
Unfortunately, there is limited variety of content within today’s metaverse exhibits, these range from conferences and fashion events to NFT galleries and games.
