About the Climate Institute
Approaching its 40th anniversary, the Climate Institute is one of the world’s first organizations focused solely on climate change. Our work helped put the issue on the international agenda by convening multi-sector leaders, fostering collaboration between nations, and advancing work on innovative solutions.
The Climate Institute was instrumental in establishing the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Its founder, John Topping Jr., and colleague Dr. Adam Fenech—currently Provost of Academic Affairs at the Canadian University Dubai—were recognized for their contributions to the IPCC’s Nobel Peace Prize in 2007. The Institute remains a nonpartisan leader advancing global climate action.
